THINGS TO DO IN WINTER: Sledding at the Zavrsnica Recreational Park

Families looking for fun winter activities in the Bled area of Slovenia, such as sledding and ice skating, can bundle up and head to the Zavrsnica Recreational Park, which is only a quick 2 minute drive from our accommodation Apartments Fine Stay.

The Zavrsnica sledding area is very convenient and wonderful as a sledding area with beautiful views of the Slovenian Alps with its highest peak, Mount Triglav at 2864m. There is a traditional sledding hill just across the road from the parking lot at the Zavrsnica lake. So bring your own sled and some energetic kids who want to run uphill and get prepared to watch the snow fly!

What to see in winter: Lake Zavrsnica

Lake Zavrsnica is a popular destination for nature lovers and local photography enthusiasts as there are so many beautiful places to shoot. We especially like to visit it early in the winter, as the surrounding mountains have a blanket of snow while the lake still hasn’t frozen over.

Lake Zavrsnica is only a pleasant 10 minute walk from our accommodation Apartments Fine Stay.

The autumn has arrived

The colorful Autumn has arrived and now is fascinating us with beautiful landscapes covered in leaves that dyed themselves into a brilliant array of warm colors, from lemon yellow to intense orange, to dark red. During this span of time, it’s best to take your camera with you wherever you go and take some beautiful pictures while the leaves are falling and the sun is shining. It is such a picturesque season that everywhere you look the scenery seems to be a fantastic photo opportunity.
