Planica Nordic Centre

The Planica Valley has been a very significant place for Nordic sports since the thirties of the last century, when it claimed the first ski jumping world record and when it also gave birth to a new discipline called ski flying. Since than, the ski jumping and ski flying competition in Planica became one of the national symbols of Slovenia.

In 2007 the valley became the site of a major renovation, which lasted until the year 2015 and which brought to life the Nordic Centre Planica – a modern Nordic skiing complex that boasts one ski flying hill, seven ski jumping hills, a cross-country skiing tracks and various summer activities like zip-line on the ski flying hill (it lasts 40 seconds and is the steepest in the world). The central building comprises a viewing platform, the Planica Museum on two floors, a wind tunnel and catering facilities. The children can have fun in the adrenaline park, as well as in the children’s corner in the central cross-skiing facility. Guided tours along the central facility and its surroundings are available too.

Opening hours: Monday till Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 18:00; Friday till Sunday between 9:00 a.m. and 20:00.
One zip-line ride costs €25. Reservation for zipline is required at least one day prior to the day of the trip (photo: +386 31 689 806; e-mail [email protected])
