Lake Klopeiner See (Austria)

With temperatures up to 28 degrees Celsius, Lake Klopein (German: Klopeiner See) is one of the warmest swimming lakes in Europe! It is renowned for its drinking water quality which attracts water sports lovers, swimmers and sun worshipers. There are 12 public areas around the lake where people can swim, with plenty of activities on offer for families. The only continuous lake promenade in Austria invites you to take a stroll and soak up the atmosphere.

The Klopeiner See lake is located a little more than an hour drive from the Bled area (if you go through the Karawanken Tunnel). Those who like a more winding road with nice views and want to avoid the Karawanken Tunnel toll (€7) can use the Loibl Pass instead (84 km, 1 hour 25 minutes).
