The Lake Bled area has about 10 centimetres of new snow on the ground for the first time this winter and everything is covered in white and so beautiful.

Vintgar Gorge is one of the most beautiful and impressive natural sights, not just in Slovenia but in the whole of Europe. Our current guest Evgenii Danilov visited the Vintgar Gorge with his family on 13 September 2021 and shared these beautiful photos with us.
Vintgar Gorge is 1.6 km / 1 mile long, with paths, wooden walkways and several observation bridges to give you the best views of the river.
Vintgar Gorge was formed by the Radovna river between the Hom and Borst hills.
Vintgar Gorge is 1.6 km / 1 mile and should take about 45-60 minutes to walk through depending on how many breaks you take along the way.
Vintgar Gorge is a nice little hike/walk for just about anyone.
The walk through the gorge, along with all of the photo stops, takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
Vintgar Gorge definitely wins in terms of its final sight, this waterfall with the old bridge behind it.
Now that the spring has arrived to the area and the grass is rich and green, a pair of donkeys has returned to the pasture just above our accommodation Apartments Fine Stay.
Spring has finally arrived to the Lake Bled area bringing out the best of nature! The trees are blossoming, flowers are blooming, birds are providing a joyful spring soundtrack and warmer weather is finally here. It’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy mother nature.

It has been a long winter with lots of snow in the Lake Bled area of Slovenia, but the warm early-March sun was out most of the time in the last few days and snow melted quickly in the valleys. Currently only the mountains still have a covering of snow on the top.

Waterfall Pericnik is located in the Vrata Valley, near the village of Mojstrana, about half an hour drive from Bled. The short walk up to the waterfall is a little steep but fun and takes less than 10 minutes. Pericnik is spectacular in every season throughout the year, but the most impressive sight of this 52 meter-high waterfall is in the winter months when it turns into a giant wall of icicles and floes.
Our friend, Matej Stegar, who is a passionate amateur landscape photographer, has visited Waterfall Pericnik on February 15th and shared these wonderful photos with us. Thank you so much Matej!

Look at this chamois spotted behind our accommodation Apartments Fine Stay by our guest from Germany, Rainer Frindte!
The chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra) is an agile goat-antelope with short hooked horns, found across the mountain ranges in France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Slovenia. They have warm reddish coats in the summer, grey coats in the winter, and thin, black, horns. They are incredibly agile on rocky, uneven terrain thanks to the elastic pads on their hooves. They have been recorded reaching speeds up to 50 km/h and jumping 6 meters vertically into the air!
