Lake Bled In Fall Colors

Everything just looks better in the fall. Most people flock to Lake Bled in the summer, but fall is an awesome time to visit this natural beauty. The temperatures are mild and the stunningly blue water is surrounded by hues of gold, orange and red.

Botanical experts will tell you that fall colors are difficult to predict any given year. Much depends on how low temperatures drop at night. Typically, with the weather getting warmer, it seems that fall colors in the Bled area now begin in early October. Generally, the second half of October is a good bet, but there are no guarantees with nature.

Photo Gallery: A Hike To Mt. Golica Covered In A White Blanket Of Daffodils

Every year between the months of May and June, thousands of white daffodils are blooming on the slopes of Golica, a mountain in the Karavanke range above the town of Jesenice, only a ten minute drive from Bled. It’s a hike well worth taking in the late spring.
